Learning how to perform exercises properly reduces your risk of injury and increases the movement's effectiveness.

    • Motivation is often difficult to maintain when you exercise on your own. Regular sessions will create accountability, which is a real motivator to not let down yourself or your coach. Celebrations of your consistency, progress, or even proper technique can be a real boost when you feel like throwing in the towel.


  • Accountability
    • If you lack commitment, self-motivation, or just the ability to kick yourself in the pants, MAK Coaching can support you to get it done. When you exercise on your own, it is easier to skip a session here and there or fall off the wagon completely since there's no one to hold you to your actions. When working with MAK Coaching, whether you don't want to lose the money you invested; or don't want to let me down; you are far more likely to show up and do the work.


  • Variety
    • You will not be bored. Using a variety of exercise methods, no two sessions will look the same. Between free weights, body weight exercises, and props like balls, bands, ropes, TRX, sledgehammers and sandbags there's no end to the combinations you could be working on. Training with MAK Coaching is progressive… it will always challenge you.

    • Time is precious. Optimisation of your time to get the biggest burn for your buck.

Before any Personal Training (One on One) or Small Group Training (2-4 people) can occur, all clients are required to complete an Introductory Consultation and a Health Fitness Evaluation and Functional Movement Screen.


These initial two appointments provide MAK Coaching with valuable information about your lifestyle, habits, mobility etc. which then enables delivery of more personal individualised coaching. Simply put – it allows us to take better care of you. The most cost effective way of doing this is by purchasing a PT Trial Package.

All clients are required to complete proper documentation prior to their Introductory Consultation. These documents are designed to evaluate the category of risk for clients about to embark on an exercise program; gather as much relevant information about a client’s fitness lifestyle; understand a client’s motivation towards building a better and more balanced life; and set some sharp, clearly defined health and fitness goals which can be measured and then achieved.

Your first appointment will be conducted on an individual basis. The Introductory Consultation will be used to conduct further pre-exercise screening, clarify your personal fitness goals, complete remaining documentation, discuss the range of training packages available and which options will best suit your needs and budget. Discounted rates are available on both training and nutritional coaching packages.



For all clients, the session after the Introductory Consultation is an Individual Health Fitness Evaluation and Functional Movement Screen.  A Functional Movement Screen (FMS) uses specific assessments to gauge an understanding of your mobility, stability and movement; and will enable a more accurate personalised training program to be prescribed.



One on One PT sessions involve one trainer and one client. Sessions are personalised and appropriate training programs that are relevant to your goals, age and lifestyle.  Functional strength training will preserve and increase your precious muscle mass which is so important especially as we age. Variety in exercise and progressive challenge will maintain your interest and motivation.
